Celebrating 5 Years!

Its been 5 years since I started my business and its also my birthday month! There have been ups and down like in all businesses. This year has definitely been filled with challenges, but it has already made me really work on my systems and building my inventory.

There are a lot of challenges with running an eco friendly business. Finding supplies, making products that are long lasting (so they aren’t bought that often), and sometimes people not willing to change their comfort of what they know (which is okay). BUT, there are pluses as well. One of the reasons I started the business was to have a job that fit around taking kids to and from school and all the fun having kids brings. It was also amazing to put my love of crafting to use.

I have loved being able to express myself creatively, which I definitely needed 5 years ago, as I was getting lost in motherhood. I have loved having my kids, but my individual self definitely got swallowed trying to be that perfect mom. Course being a mom and doing a project with my kiddo was what inspired my business. We were doing a project and it talked about the Pacific Garbage Patch and I realized we could make some changes around our own home. My friends were interested in buying my beeswax wraps and away I went!

It was a risk for sure. I have steadily been building this business, though this year has been the hardest. I am not the only maker/creative that has struggled this year. Orders just haven’t been coming in and even at events we aren’t having the success that we have in the past. But, I truly believe in my business and that sustainable products are the future and are badly needed. (Have you experienced all the climate change weather we have had this year?)

To celebrate 5 years in business I am offering FREE SHIPPING all August and I hope you take advantage of that. Its back to school prep time for us and this is when my kids pick out their new Lunchbox set for the year. The chapstick holders and the reusable sandwich and snack sets are also perfect for Back to School.
